SAUNA, SO FAR...
It’s great to be back at a race weekend! Qatar was six weeks ago, and it feels even longer. There was testing at Paul Ricard and in Barcelona of course – I haven’t just been sitting on my backside. But it feels great to jump into my Asia Series car again.
PRAYERS FOR RAIN
This weekend isn't going great so far, which is a real shame as I was so up for it coming here. But don't worry, my motivation hasn't faltered. Today, as I went out on my exploratory lap before the start of Race 1 I could tell something was wrong.
SIM CITY
I'm feeling really positive as we head into the final round of the GP2 Asia Series championship. Yesterday I was in Bicester, a small town in Oxfordshire UK best known for discount designer shopping. It's also in Formula One valley with several teams - Force India, Brawn and Red Bull Racing - all being located nearby. Not to mention my team, Arden. The team invited me and my new GP2 Main Series team mate Sergio Perez along to have a go in a simulator. And it was so realistic.
THE HEAT IS ON
The weather in Geneva was beautiful last week - 23 degrees and sunny. So when my trainer said we'd be going to the Tuscan coast to train I was hoping I'd get to bask in the Italian summer heat. It pissed it down.
ACCIDENTAL HERO
I'm not one to dwell on what might have been, but Bahrain could have been a great weekend. Unfortunately, it did not end how I'd hoped. But my race pace on Saturday was very encouraging. I'd had a shit qualifying and was 19th on the grid but fought my way through the field and was up to eighth place. But when I emerged after my pitstop, Alvaro Parente was alongside me into Turn 1. I believe it was my line, so I held my ground. Parente just steered into me like I wasn't there.
12x12x12 = A LOT OF POINTS, I HOPE!
I was a bit disappointed earlier but, on reflection, I’m feeling quite positive. My first qualifying session in the new car could have been better. I made two costly mistakes, locking my brakes both times. It probably cost me 0.4 secs overall. It’s so closely matched out there that without those small mistakes I would have made the third row.
CHAMPAAAAAAAAGNE!
Well today couldn't have gone better. I moved from third to first before the first corner, snatching the lead from D'Ambrosio, and then led the rest of this morning's sprint race.

THE PERILS OF TV
Having received hundreds of SMS and Facebook messages from friends, congratulating me on my win, I have now received hundreds more asking why I've mangled the Italian language!
POSSIBLY THE BEST DAY OF MY CAREER
22.11.09

What can I say? I'm pretty speechless... Since I came second in the Macau Grand Prix last year, and so close to winning, I have thought about what it would be like to claim victory here. And today I did it.

It came as such a relief, after what has been a difficult season in GP2.

Macau is MY circuit, and so I’m thrilled to be going back there. I just feel very confident on this magnificent street track – and I always love street tracks. Macau is something else, though…

NEW LID, SAME LUCK

As you may have heard, the Nurburgring and I are no longer friends. Bad luck struck again, and what hurts most of all is that on Saturday I started from 10th - my best feature starting position so far.
